Highway House Restaurant & Bar in Jackson

Good food and friendly service. We always enjoy eating at Highway House.

Actually we were there around 12:30 for lunch, planned on ordering their fish and chips. We were informed by the waitress that they no longer serve them before 4:00 so we left and ate elsewhere.

The service was excellent, fast, and the food was delicious!

The service was not bad but I found a curly short hair in my fries after ordering the fish and chips. They brought me a new batch which I had appreciated but by the time I even got it my fiancé finished his food and my appetite was ruined. We weren’t even given a discount or anything so I just packed up the replacement meal to take home but fish and Chips are never the same after being heated up again. I was very disappointed and had high hopes for having a new favorite place around town.

A nice modern-day spin on a local diner. Comfortable newer look, still with those sweet small town waitresses we all love. I had a great breakfast, untill i looked over an saw the someone who ordered the burger, it was huge! From what I saw this place was really on top with their salads, burgers and sandwiches. I recommend you give it a try if your in town.

This place is my usual go-to place in Jackson, CA. They give you lots of food for the price. Great variety of food to choose from.

What a wonderful restaurant. We were greated when we entered, seated ,server was great.The food was outstanding. Good parking.

Awesome place. Some of the food needed a little more flavor but other then that it was great. The service is great, very kind and attentive. The place was adorable and was very welcoming when we came in. We sat there past closing time, talking and having a blast, not even realizing how late it was and they never once said a word or bothered us to leave. It wasnt until I checked the time and felt bad that I scooted my friends out the door. Definitely would come back!

Went in at 3pm on Wednesday afternoon. Were told they no longer do dinners before 4 pm. The previous times we were told by two separate servers that dinner would be available as long you you didn't want baked potato or bread. Seems Frank, the owner, changes his mind weekly. Business must be pretty good to turn away loyal customers. The food and servers are excellent but don't think we will be giving them our business anymore. Will go somewhere else where our business is appreciated!! They told us we could come back at 4 - I don't think so!!!

The food was impeccable and the service was second to none. Fast, courteous and friendly and all that. Definitely will come back!

Friendly staff and consistent diner quality food. Parking is a little janky, but there is enough there. Fries were crispy and everything came with a side of ranch. A little on the pricy side, but I felt it was worth the money.

This place is my favored. I eat in a lot of restaurants but to this place I constantly return again and again. The crew is very helpful and the food they serve is so appetizing. I am always happy to have a decent meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.

This is favorite spot. The food is delicious. The servers are always very nice. My husband loves the Fat Burger, it is delicious. It has cheesey sourdough bread for a bun. I love the Flat Iron Salad. So much steak. Or the breakfasts are great too! They have a full bar also. Such a great place.

Great, friendly service. I ordered the eggs taco breakfast. Plenty a great taste for the price. Try substituting their chili for the fries eliminating the carb load. You won't be disappointed. Tables are too small to seat four comfortably when the food arrives and drinks.

Food & service were great! Kelly took care of us, we each had the rib-eye...it was huge and prepared perfectly, actually had 3 meals out of it! Place was clean, with plenty of parking! Returned a few days later and had fried chicken, again the food was great! Would recommend & will be returning!!!

Sandwich was good. French bread was served with margarine. Is it that expensive to give customers real butter? Clam chowder had a lot of spice. I don't think most people would care for it. I kept tasting the oregano for hours afterwards.

Really good food and fast service. Nice place on a hot day to grab some food. Sandwiches are huge and really good. Salads are great as well. Highly recommended for singles, families or groups. Drinks are kept full and parking is easy. Two doors, one wheelchair accessible and one not, but very accommodating.

Good food, good menu selections, good service, and fair prices. One of the better restaurant selections in Jackcon CA. I've eaten there a number of times and haven't had a bad meal to date.

We had a great meal here.The pork chop dinner was grilled perfectly. The fresh salad and mashed potatoes hit the spot.. The cucumber thai style salad was crunchy, well executed with peanuts,radishes,herbs and jalapenos. Topped with a satay style dressing absolutely addictive. Kelly our waitress was warm, friendly and a great ambassador for the restaurant. Our meal and experience here couldn't have been better.

Very large menu options. Something for every taste. We had a group of ten and all of our food came at the same time. Food and servicewas very good.

Great service great food!Our server was awesome warm and friendly and she gave our dog some special attention! Which was really nice, it's hard traveling with a dog must places aren't dog friendly. I had the Fuji apple chicken salad it was the best thing I have eaten all week! The family ordered the original burger (which was huge my 15 year old was full halfway into it), the cranberry chicken sandwich with onion rings, the kids had teriyaki chicken and a cheese burger. Portions were big and everyone really enjoyed there meal!

Unfortunately, going way downhill in terms of food quality and consistency. Have found this repeated visits now. Today, my food was good & everything about my husband's was horrible. Super rubbery pancakes. Eggs that leaked tons of liquid (didn't even look like egg white...don't know what it was) when he cut into it. The normal way they cook their bacon is to cook it in the oven, and then reheat later on the grill so it comes out like jerky. We've given many chances, but will not be back again.

Such a good place. They are open to dine in with social distancing measures. Google shows them as still closed for dine in. But it's no longer true. Delicious food, pleasant staff. It was our second time stopping by on the way from Big Trees park and we were happy we did. This place has a little bit of everything on their menu so it will be appealing to anyone. We ordered fried chicken and it was awesome - crispy battered chicken breasts were deep fried to perfection and the meat was nice and juicy. Blue cheese burger was huge with no skimping on the blue cheese, patty cooked but juicy. Sides were generous and delicious. Coconut creme pie was delicious as well. The atmosphere is unpretentious and inviting, staff is nice, place is spotless. All in all this restaurant is a little gold nugget in the gold country :). You won't regret stopping here.
